Wedding Venues

Gone are the days when you only had two choices for the venue of your wedding: a church or the registry office. Both of these had their benefits and hindrances. A church wedding could certainly provide the romantic setting but requires a certain commitment from the happy couple to attend the church in question and the registry office, while convenient lacks a certain ambiance.

Today there is any number of venues licensed to host a wedding. Hotels are of course the top of a lot of people’s choice of wedding venue, especially if it is a country hotel set in picturesque grounds and parkland.

Historic buildings are also very popular and can afford a unique theme to a wedding. There are numerous castles dotted around the country that are available to host a wedding and can lend themselves to a bawdy medieval theme that would uniquely mark a raucous start to any marriage.

There are also many Victorian buildings in the gothic style that would lend themselves to a medieval theme but also allow for the modern conveniences that our Victorian forbears were fond of and that buildings in our towns and cities have acquired over the years. They add just that little element of comfort to a historical setting.

There are also some grand civic buildings in our towns and cities that would provide an auspicious setting for any marriage. They would provide that element of authority offered by the registry office plus a sense of setting that used to be offered by a church.

Venue Hire

Do you have a special occasion you want to celebrate with your friends and family? Is your home big enough to accommodate such a large gathering of people? If not, then you need to hire a venue that is big enough to allow you to celebrate in comfort and safety. You will also have the benefit of not putting your home and contents in danger of damage or heaven forbid theft.

Several possible venues will of course spring to mind that are local to you and your community. These could be the local church hall, the village hall, the local pub or community centre. These sorts of venues usually fine, but you will have to put a lot of work into the event yourself. You will more than likely have to sort out your own catering, your own entertainment and sort out any licensing issues if you want to serve alcohol or want to party into the small hours.

For that very special occasion you will want to take the work and stress out of organizing the event. By widening your horizons a little to consider a hotel or a civic building for your event then a lot of the hassle could be taken away from you as these venues will sort everything out for you. The catering, entertainment and licensing will be taken care of by the venue management.

Sometimes, for those exceptional occasions, you may want to hire an event management company who will make sure everything is taken care of, from the hire of the venue to the colour of the curtains. That just leaves you to celebrate with those nearest and dearest to you.

Concert Venues

There are hundreds, if not thousands of concert venues throughout the country, and hundreds more in London alone. A concert venue doesn’t necessarily have to be a massive stadium capable of playing host to thousands of people, as the concerts are often held in all sorts of varied venues, including the back rooms of pubs and even more unlikely places.

Most towns will have a fairly large concert venue, or building that doubles up as a venue such as large hall or centre. Any large room can be converted into a concert venue with the use of appropriate equipment. The addition of a stage and PA speakers can turn almost any room in a venue, and for some smaller places the stage might not even be necessary.

If you’re looking to book a concert yourself then it’s worth looking into the local venues that you’d be able to book out. Most pubs that host live music will usually be more than happy to allow small bands and other performers to play at their venue.

There are various lists and directories of concert venues available online. They’re ideal for both people who are looking to book the venues for their own use and people who are eager to find out what is happening at the venues. The internet is a valuable resource for looking at concert venues up and down the country.  Most of the more established venues will also publish their own gig listings that are often made available online too.
